Lex Sadler is the bass player for rock band ELIZABETH, Electropop outfit Future Relative, MCs Notar and illSpokinn and more, as well as house bass player for New York's famous hip hop jam session, "Freestyle Mondays" at SinSin. Since arriving in New York in 2006, Lex has gone from strength to strength, working with hip hop icons and session stars alike. "Through the New York scene I've had the opportunity to work with some great artists, such as Talib Kweli, and amazing behind-the-scenes musicians such as Swiss Chris, drummer for John Legend. Opening for The Roots, Common, Q-Tip and Queen Latifah in Houston and New York City has been the highlight so far!".
Previous to his move to New York, Lex was a regular on the Perth funk scene with local heroes 'Delicatessen'. "Delicatessen taught me a lot about funk, and what it means to hold the groove together!". He further expanded his groove with Australia's favorite Brazilian band "Sambalicious", playing to weekly crowds of up to 1000 people.
Lex + Warwick Basses
Lex's relationship with Warwick began in 1997 with the purchase of a 5-string Fortress bass. "The B string sounded so FAT... huge on the stage and in the studio". He has since moved on to own 4 Custom Shop Streamer Stage 1s, including 2 with full white high polish finishes and blue LEDs. "The white Streamers look and sound so cool... and that's before I switch the LEDs on! These basses get instant recognition and have become a big part of my show."
This bass can be seen in Talib Kweli and Idle Warship's "Black Snake Moan"
Lex is now available as a freelance bassist for gigs, recordings and tours. Please contact him for more information.
